Through a common provincial clinical information system (CIS), Connect Care enables consistent practices across Â鶹ӳ» and will improve the care we provide for patients and their families.
The whole healthcare team, including patients, has the best possible information throughout the care journey. Healthcare will be improved for both patients and healthcare providers.
Connect Care allows prescribers to conveniently access clinical records and tools anywhere, anytime. This includes things like schedules, patient panels, team communications, order co-signs, clinical images and minor procedure documentation.
The CIS brings together everything a clinician needs to get work done, including decision support, communication, dictation, image management, and tools for quality improvement, research and teaching resources. Prescribers can also personalize elements of the system, aligning their ways of working with a common process or goal.
Connect Care is in place in Acute Care Â鶹ӳ» hospitals, Primary Care Â鶹ӳ» clinics and community health sites, Assisted Living Â鶹ӳ»* (Community and Home Care) facilities, Recovery Â鶹ӳ» (mental health and addiction) facilities, cancer centres, as well as at Carewest, CapitalCare, Covenant Health, and Â鶹ӳ» Precision Laboratories.
Assisted Living Â鶹ӳ» is on track to be fully operational by fall 2025.
All individuals who will be using the Connect Care system will require training aligned with their specific role. If you¡¯re accessing the system, you¡¯ll need training.
For more information on training, view the (AHS login is required) or the Training for Physicians FAQ.
