A multi-year Provincial Breast Health Initiative is underway in Âé¶¹Ó³»­ to improve breast cancer care, reduce wait times, coordinate care, and enhance the patient experience. Patient-reported experience measures and patient and family engagement are an important part of this work to ensure patient and family-centred solutions.

  • Each year, more than 2,300 Âé¶¹Ó³»­ns are affected by breast cancer
  • 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime (Cdn Cancer Society)
  • Breast cancer is the 2nd most common cancer in Canada, and the #1 cancer for women (Health Canada)
  • If detected early, breast cancer has one of the highest survival rates of any cancer
