Digestive Health Strategic Clinical NetworkTM

Timely access to gastroenterology (GI) specialty care remains a significant issue across Â鶹ӳ». Integrating care is vital to reduce wait times for patients with non-urgent indications and improve patient experience and outcomes.

The DHSCN is working provincially with primary care, GI specialists, patients, and other stakeholders to develop care pathways, supports and resources for low-risk gastrointestinal conditions. These pathways provide evidence-based guidance including:

  • diagnostic criteria, medications and information for clinicians
  • links to patient resources and services
  • patient guidance to manage symptoms and their condition
