GRANDE PRAIRIE ¡ª Ten newly recruited physicians joined the North Zone of Âé¶¹Ó³» in the last three months of 2023, enhancing care for many northern communities.
These newly recruited physicians have diverse specialties (see below), helping to ensure the varied healthcare needs of northern Âé¶¹Ó³» residents continue to be met.

Newly recruited physicians (and their specialties) starting practising in the following communities between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2023:

They will complement our existing teams and further strengthen our ability to provide comprehensive and personalized care.¡±
AHS continues to recruit for physicians across northern Âé¶¹Ó³» to meet community needs. AHS has physician resource planners who are dedicated to identifying and pursuing international and domestic physician recruitment opportunities. They work closely with various community partners and organizations, such as local Health Advisory Councils, the Rural Health Professions Action Plan, and independent physician attraction and retention committees.
Âé¶¹Ó³» is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Âé¶¹Ó³». Our mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Âé¶¹Ó³»ns. Our current focus is on reducing emergency department wait-times, improving EMS response times, increasing access to surgeries, and improving patient flow.
