February 26, 2024

CALGARY - Â鶹ӳ» (AHS) has launched a 360-degree photo tour of the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre: a first for healthcare in Â鶹ӳ», and a means of providing an immersive experience for staff, patients, and the public.

Offering a sneak-peak into the state-of-the-art cancer care facility ahead of its fall 2024 opening, the virtual tour is inclusive and accessible, allowing all those interested in seeing the building to view it, no matter where they are located.

"This 360-degree tour is an excellent example of the innovative health care that is available to Â鶹ӳ»ns. Having an inclusive wayfinding tool will help Â鶹ӳ»ns view the new, state-of-the-art care that will be accessible to them in the near future," said Health Minister Adriana LaGrange.

"The first-of-its-kind virtual tour is an engaging opportunity for patients and families to be able to familiarize themselves with the centre before it opens, and it¡¯s also an essential tool for staff and physicians to orient themselves to the layout and services of the facility, enhancing their ability to provide high-quality patient care,¡± said Dr. Lyle Oberg, Â鶹ӳ» Board Chair

This tour is the first of many final milestones leading to that opening and the realization of our mission to provide world-class cancer care to Â鶹ӳ»ns in a world-class facility.

Â鶹ӳ» is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Â鶹ӳ».
