GIFT LAKE ¡ª Women ages 45-74 ¡ª the group most at risk of developing breast cancer ¡ª will have local access to mammography services when the Â鶹ӳ»­ Screen Test program arrives in four communities next month.

A mobile mammography trailer will be stationed in the following locations:

• Sept. 19 ¨C Gift Lake Métis Settlement Community Hall parking lot
• Sept. 20, 21 ¨C Sucker Creek First Nation Recreation Centre parking lot
• Sept. 22, 25, 26 ¨C McLennan, Sacred Heart Community Health Centre (350 3 Ave. NW)
• Sept. 27 ¨C Tangent Community Hall

Screen Test is improving access to cancer screening for thousands of women in Â鶹ӳ»­ communities where mammography is not readily available.

A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast and has proven to be the most effective way to detect breast cancer. Early detection allows for a greater number of options for treatment and a better chance of survival.
