A Registered Nurse (RN) is a nursing professional that directly cares for individuals, families, groups, communities to be healthy and well. A Registered Nurse will coordinate patient care as part of a team with physicians and other health providers.

What Do Registered Nurses Do?

? Coordinate nursing care based on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs to promote, maintain or restore health
? Provide direct nursing care (e.g. treatments, medications and procedures)
? Develop and deliver health education programs
? Teach nursing theory and practice

Where Do Registered Nurses Work?

Registered Nurses work in nearly every corner of AHS. Many have specialized skills and work in a specific department (e.g. critical care, health promotion, or cancer care). While most deliver patient care, many Registered Nurses can be found in clinical practice, administration, education, and research.

  • A Bachelor of Nursing (BN)
