CCSC provides colon cancer screening, including colonoscopy, to asymptomatic individuals at average or increased risk of colon cancer. It also provides diagnostic colonoscopy to otherwise asymptomatic patients with a positive screening FIT. As a non-hospital facility, CCSC can only accommodate generally healthy individuals who would be at low risk for undergoing a colonoscopy under conscious sedation.
In these situations, patients should be referred to a GI Central Triage or directly to a community gastroenterologist or colorectal surgeon.
The Â鶹ӳ» Colorectal Cancer Screening Program (ACRCSP) is an organized provincial colon cancer screening program coordinated by Â鶹ӳ» in partnership with health care providers dedicated to increasing the number of men and women ages 50 to 75 who have regular colon cancer screening.
