Health Professional Training

The Âé¶¹Ó³»­Quits Learning Series includes online modules for Tobacco Basics, Brief Tobacco Intervention, Tobacco Cessation Pharmacotherapy, and Intensive Tobacco Intervention and in-person or virtual workshops for Applied Tobacco Intervention and Foundational Health Educator courses.

Certified Tobacco Educator (CTE) ¨C In partnership with the Canadian Network for Respiratory Care we provide learning units that allow health professionals in Âé¶¹Ó³»­ to be eligible to write the credential exam.

  • CTE Assignment - This case-based assignment is the final step in preparation for the Certified Tobacco Educator (CTE) examination. The assignment can be requested from tvcp@ahs.ca.

Group Cessation Facilitator Resources

  • QuitCore is a structured six-week group tobacco cessation program. If you are you interested in being a QuitCore facilitator in your community, contact tvcp@ahs.ca.

Pharmacotherapy Support

Your patients/clients may be eligible to receive coverage for nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), cessation medications (i.e., bupropion, varenicline) or both, through a government assistance program.  Visit on the Government of Âé¶¹Ó³»­ website for more information.
