Sexual and Reproductive Health - Clinical Services

Calgary Zone clinics offer confidential & youth-friendly drop-in services and booked appointments for Sexual & Reproductive Health services.

Urban Calgary Sexual & Reproductive Health Clinics offer the following services:

  • birth control information, prescription & free supplies
  • IUD & contraceptive implant (Nexplanon) insertions & removals*
  • STI testing & treatment
  • STI treatment for contacts
  • emergency contraception (including emergency Copper IUD insertion)
  • pregnancy testing and options support (parenting, abortion & adoption)
  • HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) prescriptions*
  • Pap tests
  • care after a sexual assault
  • post-abortion check-ups
  • HPV vaccination

*These services generally require a pre-booked appointment ( in-person or phone consultation )

The Summit Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinic location is for people 24 years or younger.

Tuesday: Closed for lunch 11:30 AM -12:30 PM

Clinic is closed on Statutory holidays.

Some Thursday mornings, clinic is closed.

Nurse only clinic hours: (no doctor available)

Tuesday & Thursday: 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM 

 

Nurses can support the following services:

  • routine STI testing (no symptoms)
  • STI treatment ( positive lab result or contact)
  • emergency contraception pills
  • pregnancy tests & options decision support
  • birth control supply pick up (prescription on file)
  • HIV PrEP counselling or testing

If you require a new prescription or physical exam, please come when a doctor is at clinic.

Eligibility

We are a youth-friendly clinic and will see people that fit into one or more of the following categories:

  • are 29 years old or younger
  • have no Âé¶¹Ó³»­ Health Care
  • can't afford birth control
  • need a translator
  • need special services (HIV PrEP, pregnancy options support, emergency contraception, diaphragm fittings)
  • have a need for our services that they can't meet elsewhere

Eligibility for The Summit: Marian & Jim Sinneave Centre for Youth Resilience, opening 04 April 2023. People 24 years and younger.

Eligibility for Okotoks Health and Wellness clinic: All teens and young adults and any person with barriers to service (e.g., no Âé¶¹Ó³»­ Health Care, low income, or English is not first language).

Service Access

Healthcare providers should consult the for service referral information.

No referral required. Patients self-refer.

Not all services are available at all locations. Check with each clinic to check what services they offer. Some services may be by drop-in or by appointment.
