Rural Allied Health - Speech Language Pathology

Focus of the service is to support unmet functional speech-language concerns in an individual or group program. Patients are prioritized based on identified needs.

The program provides short term intervention for patients with functional speech-language concerns. Reason for referral:(sub) acute neurological condition requiring SLP services.Dysphasia, Aphasia, Voice Disturbances, Speech Fluency, Functional Communication.

Service is provided to clients who meet the following inclusion criteria:

• resident of Âé¶¹Ó³»­

• valid Âé¶¹Ó³»­ personal health care number (AB-PHN)

• functional rehabilitation goal(s)

• rehabilitation readiness, including: medically stable; physically able to participate in intervention, cognitively able to participate

Exclusion criteria includes:

• WCB and MVA injury related concerns.

• currently receiving Speech Language Pathology services from another program or provider for the same concern.

• Children / youth developmental delay support.
