Healthy Schools

Helps develop, coordinate, and evaluate strategies for health promotion and disease prevention.

Develops partnerships with stakeholders to affect policy change, leverage resources, increase capacity, and plan programs in Â鶹ӳ»­ to improve the health of youth. A comprehensive school health approach is used, which includes these initiatives:

  • Health promotion facilitators partner with school authorities across the province to promote healthy eating, being active, and positive mental health among students
  • The comprehensive school health initiative looks at school health in Â鶹ӳ»­ by understanding the state of health in schools, supporting consistent messages and resources related to school health, and creating partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
