Cancer Care Âé¶¹Ó³»­ for Health Professionals

Surveillance & Reporting team offers extensive support to help you meet your data needs effectively: 

  • Cancer Epidemiology and Statistics: We support Cancer Care Âé¶¹Ó³»­, Âé¶¹Ó³»­ and Âé¶¹Ó³»­ Health decision-making by monitoring trends, driving epidemiologic investigations, and conducting expert statistical analysis.  
  • Research Design: We assist with feasibility assessments, method consultations, analytical planning, sample size determination, statistical analysis, and grant application support.  We can provide in-depth understanding of how the cancer data is created and how best to work with it to ensure quality and rigour in analysis.  
  • Data Extraction and Linkages: We facilitate access to and linkage of cancer data to other health administrative databases such as DECIDe, Connect Care, DAD, NACRS, PIN, laboratory data, Vital Statistics, the Âé¶¹Ó³»­ Community Health Survey and Statistics Canada.  We routinely link to other data sources such as REDCap.  
  • Data Management: Our experts extract, develop and maintain curated datasets, used for analysis and for developing automated reports using Tableau. 
  • Reporting: We create and manage a comprehensive suite of Tableau dashboards, delivering timely and sustainable products. Developed through extensive stakeholder engagement, these dashboards aim to transform complex data into actionable insights that support effective decision-making. Additionally, we ensure ongoing submission of cancer reporting metrics to Âé¶¹Ó³»­ Health and Âé¶¹Ó³»­ Planning & Performance.
